The Jackson Hole Wine Auction has been fortunate to have the foremost personalities of the wine world participate in its events, including Robert Parker, Michel Rolland, and Georg Riedel. For the 2008 event the Wine Auction is excited to be hosting Antonio Galloni and Neal Martin, esteemed wine writers for Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate.

Antonio Galloni

With parents who retailed Italian wines and a grandfather who loved the great wines of Bordeaux and the Rhône, Antonio's exposure to wine started at an early age. He developed his passion for wine, and in particular wine writing, through experiences in the restaurant business and during three years living in Milan, Italy. Upon his return to the US and eager to learn more, Antonio grew increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of information available to consumers on Italian wines and decided to write his own newsletter, first published in 2004 as the “Piedmont Report.” In 2006 Antonio began expanding his coverage to other regions in Italy, when fate intervened and Robert Parker invited him to join The Wine Advocate, in which his Italy Report contains the most authoritative and comprehensive discussion on Italian wines available.

Neal Martin
Neal Martin has become an authority in wine writing circles since the debut of his independent website, wine-journal.com in June 2003. Having been reared in a family more interested in boxed wine than Bordeaux, Neal fell into the oenophile world by chance when he was offered an opportunity to procure all manner of Petrus and Latour for a Japanese export company. To improve upon his admitted narrow knowledge of wine, Neal enrolled for the WSET certificate, thereby igniting his passion for wine and embarking on a career in wine writing. In 2006 the most influential wine critic in the world, Robert Parker, requested his penmanship for the Wine Advocate, in which Neal continues to write from his home in Guildford, Surrey.
