The August 10, 2009 issue of People Magazine ran a feature on Summer Music Festivals, focused largely on pop and rock Festivals throughout the United States. But when the celebrities were asked "What's your favorite music festival?" the Grand Teton Music Festival found itself in the spotlight as actress Joely Fisher replied:

"Music in the Hole. It's classical music in Jackson Hole with fireworks, outside under the Teton mountains. It's amazing."

The Grand Teton Music Festival's annual, picnic-style, July 4th concert takes place at Alpine Field each year, and features the Festival Orchestra in its only outdoor concert of the year.
