The 2013 fundraising event celebrated ‘Distinctive Flavors of the West’ — bringing top vintners and celebrity chefs
to Jackson Hole with proceeds benefiting community education and outreach programs

JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING. – July 17, 2013 – Grand Teton Music Festival today announced that the 2013 Jackson Hole Wine Auction successfully raised nearly $200,000 to benefit education and outreach programs of the Grand Teton Music Festival for the enrichment of arts and culture in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Named by Wine Spectator as one of the top ten charity wine auctions in the United States, the sold out two-day event celebrated “western elegance” with exquisite wines and a five-course gourmet dinner prepared by celebrity chefs Graham Elliot, judge on Fox’s MasterChef and the youngest 4-star chef in America, and Scott Conant, winner of Chopped All Stars on the Food Network and owner of Scarpetta restaurants nationwide.

The weekend kicked off with the Riedel Welcome Party on Friday, June 21 at The Handle Bar, presented by Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole and Westside Wine & Spirits. The event featured an abundance of delectable food and wines from Domaine Serene, Domaine Carneros and Dominio del Plata. Special guest and advanced sommelier Mollie Battenhouse educated guests about wine and the select vintages served throughout the evening. Guests had ample opportunities to mix and mingle with Chefs Conant and Elliot, Restaurateur Drew Nieporent and Susana Balbo, winemaker and owner of Dominio del Plata Winery in Argentina, frequently dubbed the “Evita of Wine”.

The events of Saturday, June 22, included a silent and live auction and gala dinner at Snake River Ranch – proving to be an awe-inspiring event backdrop with views of Rendezvous Mountain. The event was held under a giant outdoor tent with signature beverage selections, an exquisite five-course dinner perfectly paired with fine wine and a spectacular display of auction lots. The silent auction showcased ninety-nine lots featuring outstanding wine, handcrafted furnishings and pristine cutlery, while the live auction featured fifteen once-in-a-lifetime adventure trips and several rare wine collections auctioned off by Auctioneer Fritz Hatton (one of the nation’s most experienced wine auctioneers hailing from Zachy’s). Alongside celebrity chefs Scott Conant and Graham Elliot, the event also featured local chefs Chad Horton, Head Pastry Chef for Fine Dining Restaurant Group; Bill Boney of Dining In Catering; and the “Cowboy Chocolatier” Tim Kellogg of Meeteetse Chocolatier. At the close of the gala dinner and auction, guests quickly crowded the dance floor, enjoying the sounds of the Richard Brown Orchestra and then made their way home under the moonlight.

Mark your calendars for the 20th anniversary of the Jackson Hole Wine Auction
